Bharti Airtel Limited has launched 4G services in Chalakudy town of Kerala. With this, Airtel 4G is now available across 200 towns in the state which is majorly dominated by Idea Cellular.
The telco is also offering to deliver 4G SIMs at home which requires customers to order it online through Airtel’s 4G website. “We introduced Kerala to 4G with our launch in August 2015. Today, in less than a year we have expanded our 4G footprint to 200 towns in the State enabling customers to enjoy never before internet capabilities. We are delighted to enable our customers in Chalakudy to enjoy our 4G services starting today,” said George Mathen, Hub CEO – Kerala & Tamil Nadu, Bharti Airtel.
To get started on Airtel 4G, customers can walk into their nearest Airtel Store and switch to a 4G SIM, or they can also get it home delivered.
Just like Airtel’s recent 4G launches, this one as well is a part of Project Leap – Airtel’s nationwide network transformation initiative. In the past one month, Airtel rolled out its 4G/3G services in Gujarat and Arunachal Pradesh under this initiative.
Airtel had announced in February 2016 that it has started deploying India’s first commercial LTE-Advanced (4G+) network in Kerala that can deliver mobile data speeds up to 135 Mbps.
