PEC University of Technology,Chandigarh: PEC University of Technology (formerly Punjab Engineering College (PEC) having its roots in Lahore as Mugalpura Engineering College since 1921, moved to its present campus in 1953 as PEC affiliated to Panjab University. The institute became Deemed University in 2003 through a MHRD notification and rechristened as PEC University of Technology in 2009. It is a Grant-in-Aid institution under administration of Union Territory of Chandigarh, Government of India. The institute has a 146 acres sprawling and pious campus and is house of Chandigarh College of Architecture also. The academic and administrative processes are similar to IITs in the country. The institute governance is through a vibrant Board of Governors, chaired by a renowned industrialist, Sh Som Mittal. The institute is headed by a Director on 5 years tenure a position, which is equivalent to Vice Chancellor of Universities.
University Institute of Engineering and Technology:University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET) is an engineering and management institute of Panjab University, Chandigarh, India offering undergraduate (BE), postgraduate (Dual Degree BEMBA,M.Tech degree) as well as doctoral courses. The institute is granted funds from the central government to improve its infrastructure and facilities. UIET has interactions and Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) with industry and academia like the IT giant Infosys (Campus Connect Program), IBM, IMTECH, and Bharti Group (Bharti Chair for research). The institute has a memorandum signed with the University of Western Australia.

Dr Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar University Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology: The University Institute of Chemical Engineering & Technology, UICTE (earlier known as Department of Chemical Engineering & Technology, DCET) was established in 1958 in collaboration with I.I.T., Chicago in the present building of the University Campus. Professor R. E. Peck from I.I.T. Chicago joined as the first Head of Institute. Since its inception in 1958, the Institute has established itself as a premier institution engaged in imparting quality technological education and providing support to research and development activities. Research in terms of publications and extramural funding has substantially increased over the years. The Institute has highly qualified core faculty of high professional profile to meet the emerging trends and challenges in the field of chemical engineering and allied areas on a global platform. The year 2008 was the Golden Jubilee year of the Institute. As part of Celebrations, the Institute hosted CHEMCON-2008 (61st Annual session of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers), which included a joint US-India Conference on Energy.

Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology,Chandigarh: Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology (CCET) is under the administrative control of the Directorate of Technical Education, Chandigarh Administration and is affiliated to Panjab University for its degree courses and Punjab State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training for its Diploma courses. CCET, formerly known as Central Polytechnic Chandigarh (CPC), was established in 1959. The Chandigarh Administration upgraded the CPC to CCET, by then Administrator Lt. Gn. JFR Jacob, by introducing two branches of engineering in 2002.
