Reliance Jio has extended its three-month unlimited data preview offer to Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, and to early adopters of Lyf smartphones who didn’t receive Jio Preview offer at time of purchase smartphone, TelecomTalk reported.
The report said that Redmi Note 3 users can download the MyJio app to avail the offer on the basis of location and city. The Jio app will generate offer barcode, which can be used to avail the SIM at a Reliance Digital or Xpress Mini Store nearby.
People who had bought Lyf smartphones before the Jio Preview offer was introduced can now register on www.jio.com/preview/lyf to get an invite code for getting Jio Preview offer.
Jio has already inked a deal with Samsung and sales of the devices have already begun. A similar pact with Apple is also said to be in the works. Homegrown handset maker Hitech Cellphone is also in talks with Reliance Jio to preload the latter’s SIMs into its 4G devices in a bid to boost its smartphone sales.
ET earlier this week reported that Jio is entering into partnerships with almost all smartphone makers to bundle three months of free data and voice with handsets to ramping up users rapidly while providing a push to smartphone sales.Jio Preview offer allows LYF users to enjoy unlimited 4G internet along with unlimited VoLTE voice calling and unlimited SMS anywhere within India for a period of 90 days. The offer also provides exclusive access to Jio premium apps for 90 days.
The company is currently testing a wide array of 4G voice over LTE (VoLTE) handsets for network compatibility with a focus on dual-SIM models so that a Jio subscription can easily fit in as a second connection. With this, the company will also be opening up services to smartphones other than its own Lyf brand.
While the company opened up its network to staff and others last year, ET recently reported that the much-delayed commercial launch may take place next month.
